Fine & Dandy Design Co. is a husband-and-husband interior design studio based in metro Atlanta. Charles & Grant bring a design philosophy built on timeless, modern spaces — clean lines, masculine energy, and warm, earthy tones that feel grounded rather than trendy. Together, we design homes that are tailored to how our clients actually live: intentional, comfortable, and built to last well beyond the latest trend cycle. ABOUT THE DESIGNERS
Charles Messenger
Co-Founder & Principal Designer
Raised in Pennsylvania and New Jersey before putting down roots in the South, Charles is deeply inspired by the timeless nature of historical architecture and design. Incorporating the essence of the architecture into his designs is key as he feels the interior space should flow naturally from outside the home to the interior. Known for his incredible attention to detail he pushes the barriers of both form and function to not only make beautiful spaces, but to make those spaces livable and enjoyable for his homeowners.
When not creating beautiful spaces, he enjoys cooking (and eating) great meals with his husband Grant, bourbon tastings, reading a book with a glass of wine, going for long walks with their two mini-Australian shepherds, Norma Jeanne & Penny, paddleboarding on Lake Lanier, traveling to areas both new and known, and simply enjoying their beautiful home.
Grant Grillo
Co-Founder & Principal Designer
Grant leads the creative direction at Fine & Dandy Design Co., bringing a photographer's eye to every space he designs. With a background in photography and a deep understanding of lighting, color, and composition, he focuses on creating rooms that capture both the visual and emotional qualities of a home.
His approach combines technical precision with artistic interpretation, ensuring that each space communicates design intent with clarity and authenticity. From the subtleties of natural light to the careful balance of materials, texture, and color, Grant is dedicated to crafting interiors that feel immersive, livable, and true to the story of the people who call them home.
